It's a new month and as always a new community to collaborate with and this month's collaboration on dreemport is with the The Kindness Community
A big shoutout to @gregscloud, the founder of this amazing community and I have no doubt that we will learn as well as have a great time here.
So on to the first topic for this month;
What Does Kindness Mean To You
First, I define kindness as the quality of being friendly and showing consideration towards people. This goes beyond the people we know, Kindness should be shown to everyone.
This is why before saying or doing something, I try to put myself in the person's shoes. What? Do you think you are so perfect that you can't make mistakes? So why are you so harsh? Why not try being Considerate?
The world is cruel enough with different people from different backgrounds, some of whom might want to do us harm, so I say that we need all the kindness and compassion people have to give.
How Do We Show Kindness?
There are lots of ways we can show kindness to people, some of which are;
- With Our Words
There is a saying that "Words are powerful", that is why we always need to be careful with how we speak to people. Those words that you might think are little can make or mar a person. So we should all endeavor to be kind with our words, especially to people who are hurting.
When people make mistakes and tell you about them, don't make things worse by using bad words on them, rather be kind with your words. What they need is your reassuring words that hopefully, things will get better,
- Reaching Out To People
The fact remains that everyone is busy with one or two things in life but no matter how busy we are, we should try to make time for our loved ones. Note that we don't always have to be physically present with people before we can be kind to them. Reach out to them through calls, messages, or visiting if we can afford to do that. That will go a long way to show just how much we care for them and they in turn will feel very loved.
- Giving To People In Need
This is the ultimate way of showing kindness and I always believe in the saying that "Givers never lack" This is one of the reasons why I so much embrace the minimalist lifestyle because why have so many when you can give out to people who have nothing? There is this happiness I always feel inside of me whenever I can put a smile across a person's face as I will keep picturing the person's face and sleep happily, knowing that I helped make that smile appear. I love that I don't need to own the whole world before I can share and give to others.
In summary, there is no doubt that we all need kindness in our lives and to also show kindness to people around us. I mean what's the world without kindness in it?
