Sudden Adaptation

Even after several weeks and months of mixing up my children's uniforms, I still do not know how to change in terms of arranging and organizing their uniforms. Separating them would be my headache; this is why my husband always does the separation when I wash their clothes and mine and my husband's. My elder daughter also knows the kind of person I am, and so she has been the one separating their uniforms after they have dried up.

Two weeks ago, I washed my kids' uniforms as usual and mixed them up with other clothes. I had forgotten that those close had to be separated and decided to pack them from the rope I had placed them. My daughter had been the one packing those clothes, but just that day, I packed them just because I was at home, and it was about to rain. I gathered them and immediately dropped them inside the basket filled with other clothes. That day was a Saturday. That night, after having their bath, they searched through the baskets and took their house clothes. They all wore them. With the way, the basket is being searched, I noticed that it was just a mess. This made me start packing them inside an empty bag. That bag could not contain the clothes, so I brought another bag and packed the rest inside it. In the second bag, there were other clothes.

On Sunday, they searched through the basket yet again, brought out their clothes, and got ready for church service. We all left together, and when we came back from church, I noticed that the room was a mess again. I started arranging clothes, and then I had a second thought that I had to pack some for my husband's room. I had to pack some clothes inside my husband's bag that contained some of his clothes.

When it was Monday, they all got prepared as I had prepared their food. They happily went to the basket and started looking for their clothes. My youngest son saw his shorts but left with his shirt. My daughter saw her gown without her top. The one that followed her saw his complete clothes and was so excited. My second boy did not see any of his clothes. We started searching everywhere while my kids were busy pouring out the blame on me. I kept quiet, as I knew it was my fault. We searched all the ant holes but came up with nothing.

Meanwhile, my husband had gone back to work. He woke up as early as possible as he traveled back to his location.

We searched all parts of the house, but then I had forgotten that I had packed some clothes in my husband's room. My elder boy got ready, and off he went to school. He took his school so seriously as well as others. They started crying profusely as they watched their brother go to school.

I went outside to see if I had left some uniforms, but I saw nothing, and beside, I knew I emptied the rope just because of the cloudy weather. They all gave up that they were not going to school until I got them other uniforms. I truly admitted my fault, and I was confused about how to fix the mess I had caused.

After deep thinking, I had to call their aunt and tell her they would be coming to school with house clothes. She did not agree with what I had said. She said my elder daughter must come to school just to register for her common entrance exam, which was compulsory. Meanwhile, since I was unable to get her uniforms, I asked my girl to dress up with her house clothes. She left for school. After a few minutes, her aunty called me, saying she must put on her school uniform. She said my daughter would have to take her passport that day. I started searching again, but then could not find anything that looked like a uniform.

I called her back to help me arrange for spare clothes just for her to take the passport. She was somehow adamant and said I had to pay for any uniform she got for her at that moment, which I agreed to.

Somehow, my youngest son had to go to his father's room to take his toy, which his dad seized from him a day before. Getting to the room, he started searching for his toy, and suddenly saw the whole of the uniforms lying low. It's his father's bag. He shouted, just as if something had gone wrong. When I got to the room, I could not believe what he had seen. I had mixed up his father's clothes with ours and had packed other clothes in the wrong positions. I immediately dressed them up, even though they were far too late. Likewise, I took them down to the school myself just to avoid punishment. I immediately took my girl's uniform as well as her bag, and behold, I was free from paying extra money to borrow the uniform.

After that horrible day, I adapted to immediate changes.
