During the summer the Vox Lucis Choir temporarily left their holidays, because the music called us. Delegates of the Federation of University Students from all over the country gathered in our city. As our choir won the Grand Prize of Music at the festival of artists of this federation, they requested our presence at this event.
Anxiety and nerves were present from the very beginning. We were on vacation at the time, which meant that we couldn't rehearse much before the performance. We still knew that on stage we would give our one hundred percent.
When it came time to sing there were several technical problems, and therefore the concert was postponed. Slowly something that was planned to be early in the afternoon spread out until after dinner time and it still wasn't starting. Several singers were upset since in part this happened due to the lack of organization of the event. Anyway we stay away from any negative vibes before going out on the scene. We were there to put on a good show and that's what we would do.
I've never felt so good in the middle of a presentation. Our voices achieved a perfect impasto that caused the whole atmosphere to be trapped in the magic of the music. There were even pardoners who got so excited listening to us that they burst into tears. It was truly beautiful. We performed, as usual, part of our sacred repertoire and ended up brightening up the night with traditional Cuban music. The applause rained down, but the greatest gift, the impact we achieved on the audience, we carry in our hearts.

Durante el verano el Coro Vox Lucis dejó momentáneamente sus vacaciones, ya que la música nos llamó. En nuestra ciudad se reunieron delegados de la Federación de Estudiantes Universitarios provenientes de todo el paÃs. Como nuestro coro ganó el Gran Premio de Música en el festival de artistas de esta federación, solicitaron nuestra presencia en este evento.
La ansiedad y los nervios estuvieron presentes desde un inicio. En aquel momento nos encontrábamos de vacaciones, lo que significa que no pudimos ensayar mucho antes de la presentación. Aún asà sabÃamos que en el escenario darÃamos nuestro cien por ciento.
Cuando llegó el momento de cantar se presentaran varios problemas técnicos, y por tanto el concierto se fue aplazando. Lentamente algo que estaba planificado para ser temprano en la tarde se extendió hasta luego del horario de la cena y aún no comenzaba. Varios cantores estábamos molestos ya que en parte esto sucedió por falta de organización del evento. De todas maneras nos alejamos de cualquier vibra negativa antes de salir a la escena. Estábamos allà para dar un buen espectáculo y eso harÃamos.
Jamás me habÃa sentido tan bien en medio de una presentación. Nuestras voces lograron un empaste perfecto que provocó que todo el ambiente quedara atrapado en la magia de la música. Incluso hubo perdonas que se emocionaron tanto escuchándonos que se echaron a llorar. Fue verdaderamente hermoso. Interpretamos, como de costumbre, parte de nuestro repertorio sacro y terminamos alegrando la noche con música tradicional cubana. Los aplausos llovieron, pero el mayor regalo, el impacto que logramos en el público, nos lo llevamos en el corazón.
