Memories with My Mom

Have a wonderful day/or night fellow Hivers.

Last Wednesday night, December 11, 2024, we received a sad news though a video call from my nephew telling us that his father passed away early that morning. That was so sudden and so hurtful because we never expected it to happen.

His dad never suffered any severe illnesses and he always looked healthy. But all of a sudden, he's gone. My nephew told us that his dad suddenly found it difficult to breathe. His mom, my elder sister, was able to bring him to the hospital but he wasn’t able to make it.

Situations like this is really painful and it's so hard to accept and get over especially when Christmas is around the corner.

Then all of a sudden, I remember my mom who is already in the hand of our Almighty God. My mom died six years ago. We were a bit prepared of her passing because she was already 83 years old that time and she was in the hospital for more than a month because of her lung condition.

Yes, it's really painful to bid farewell to her but there's also a part of acceptance for the reason she won't be in so much pain anymore and just surrender it all to God. The body or the presence of our dear departed loved ones may have been gone forever from our sight, but their spirit and memories will always linger in our thoughts and our hearts.

I had a lot of precious moments with my mom together with my family because she always loved to stay with us most of the time, though sometimes she stayed with my other siblings too. We didn’t have a perfect relationship because sometimes we also argued over something but mostly for her own good health.

But my family always made it sure to make her happy when she's with us. My daughter @tegoshei is one of her favorite grandchildren. Well, @tegoshei is always a favorite grandchild to both my parents and my husband's parents.

So here I am, reminiscing some of our precious memories with my mom. She loved visiting churches, especially in Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño Church, Carmelite Monastery, and Theotokos Shrine in Carcar City. We can really see and feel her happiness every time we go out together.

She was a funny person and always went with the flow. Most of the time, my daughter asked her to make some funny faces or to do some funny poses and she would always love to do it.

These photos were taken at Basilica Minore Del Sto. Niño Church, together with my daughter and my husband. After going to church we always eat together in a restaurant in the mall.

My siblings and I together with our family sometimes gather on some special occasions like my mom's birthday. Her children were complete here during her 80th birthday. The sons-in-law and grandchildren were celebrating with her together with other friends and relatives.

My mom was also close to my mother-in-law despite the distance they were staying at.
They used to visit and stay with us at home together. They shared some funny moments too. We're grateful to God that my mother-in-law is still alive and healthy right now. We also have some precious moments together with her and I might be sharing them someday.

Moments like these are somewhat painful but also something you can always cherish forever no matter how much you miss your departed loved ones. All we can do for our departed loved ones is to offer a constant prayer for their peaceful soul.

I think many of us if not all had some precious moments and memories with our dear departed loved ones. We should cherish them forever.

I should end my post here and thank you so much for reading. To God be all the glory!!
