Brawl Report #85: Nine fights and no surrenders from my opponents

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. It was the first time that I had 9 fights and had every single person submit their match.

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 4 wins. There were no free wins because every single guild submitted a match and none of them failed to submit a match. My rewards for the brawl were 2,667 merits and 19.189 SPS in the 3-star category. My guild ranked 8th place out of the 10 guilds there. II choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. The points that we got were much lower so our rewards were lower this time.

    Brawl fights

There were 4 that I won and 5 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

    image.png
You can find the first match here. I lost this match because I missed too many attacks. I guess having low speed monsters worked against me.

    image.png
You can find the second match here. I lost this match and the magic monsters demolished me. At the same time, the speed difference hurt me because I missed a lot of attacks as well.

    image.png
You can find the third match here. I lost this match. I went for fewer monsters but slow monsters, but the sneak monsters just got to me and I lost my bloodlust monster.

    image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match and the taunt monster with void makes this match rough. I couldn't do much against all the concentrated damage that my opponent did.

    image.png
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and the shatter from my opponent's summoner was too deadly. It allowed my opponent to deal a lot of damage and the sneak monsters just took out my backline.

    image.png
You can find the sixth match here. I won this match and I was glad to take advantage of the -2 armor from my summoner and the opportunity from the ruleset to kill off my opponent. The bloodlust monster dealt quite a bit of damage too.

    image.png
You can find the seventh match here. I won this match and that shield with tank heal kept my tank alive while my bloodlust opportunity monster wiped out the backline.

    image.png
You can find the eighth match here. I won this match but I wasn't expecting to do so. The bloodlust just added up and when it was able to move faster than the ranged monster, I found myself winning the match.

    image.png
You can find the ninth match here. I won this match because I took advantage of the ruleset. Flying monsters won't take damage from the earthquake damage so it helped me wipe out my opponent's backline.

    Conclusion

I think doing 9 fights for 2,667 merits and 19.189 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It wasn't the best brawl but it was a new experience. I wasn't expecting to get 9 matches and for everyone to submit their team in 3-star brawls. I don't think I have ever seen that happen before. I am satisfied with the result though because it was close to half wins.
