Happy Sunday, dear Hivers! My family and I are usually a stay-at-home humans during Sundays, the only time where we are complete. Then my family members would take turns cooking and doing the household chores. For today's meal, we are cooking pochero soup, our all time favorite.
Ingredients:
. 3 kilo of pork/beef spare ribs
. 1/2 kilo of pechay
. 1/4 kilo of baguio beans
. 1 pc white gabi (taro)
. salt & pepper to taste
Just so you know, cooking this dish takes a whole village, most especially in washing the vegetable ingredients of the soup. We are aware that most vegetables are full of pesticide so we use a brush to clean them, one by one. Then there's the pork ribs that needs to be tenderized using a pressure cooker for 30 minutes. Nevertheless, we acknowledged that cooking on a Sunday is somewhat a bonding moment for us, albeit exhausting.
Also, I've read an article stating that pork/beef soup is good for the skin as it's rich in collagen. It has been said that celebrities are drinking this too. So i made sure to drink a bowl of soup for lunch.
In the afternoon, our brown eggs supplier visited our house to sell eggs at a discounted price. According to him, their farm had an over supply of eggs and so they have to sell the extra eggs on a door-to-door basis. So we bought 10 trays from them at a cheaper price.
For the rest of the afternoon, I spend my time in my desk with some brewed coffee and grocery-bought tiramisu cake as a snack.
Tomorrow is a start of a new week and I hope everyone has recharged over the weekend.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love,
Jane
