La elección de materiales o acabados en algo, siempre debe ser tomado no como un capricho, sino con un poco de mente para poder llevar las cosas a otro plano uno en el que quizás la belleza preceda la durabilidad y la funcionalidad o las ventajas que ofrezca el material a emplear, ya que muchas veces si nos dejamos solo llevar por lo “bonito” pues no tiene algún sentido o al menos para los que vemos las cosas desde otro punto de vista.
Y es que en la naturaleza hay demasiados materiales que podemos encontrar, por lo que algunas veces pueden servirnos unos para unas cosas y otros para otras, pero sabiendo elegir y no solamente dejándose llevar por las apariencias, puesto que, hay roles que pueden cumplir unos materiales y otros no, dado sus propiedades físico, mecánicas, eléctricas, etc, por lo que en ciertos aspectos no es quizás comparable un plástico a un metal, por más dúctil que pueda ser el plástico o más frágil o delgado que pueda ser el metal.
Ya que, hay cosas para cada fin, y que aunque quizás ya han pasado algunos años desde entonces, hay materiales que antes si se pudieron usar mucho para acabados para dar un toque “premiun” o simplemente usar el material de moda de la época como quizás pudo haber sido la madera o la “madera” en algunas industrias, y si coloco en comillas la palabra, porque como todo en la gran industria de la producción, cuando algo se hace tendencia, habrá un aumento exponencial de estos en cuanto a costos y la demanda no siempre responde a estos costos elevados por oferta y demanda.
Trayendo consigo materiales que puedan simular estos, o que se parezcan lo más posible o creando la ilusión de estos por un costo menor al que originalmente pueden traer usar el material en cuestión dado la tendencia de esa época, siendo estos el origen de que muchos años adelante cuando se quiera sustituir ciertas cosas, nos encontremos con la división en el camino sobre usar el material “real”, o simplemente conseguir una opción alternativa con otros materiales disponibles en el mercado.
Siendo posible esto nada más que en acabados, porque en temas de estructuras, pues quizás no sea tan buena idea emplear cierto tipo de materiales para ello, es por eso que hay que prestarle mucha o demasiada atención a las cosas para poder dar con ellas y como no crear en lo posible lo más acertado a la necesidad que se plantee, pues si simplemente nos centramos en algo estético, quizás no sé de con lo que realmente sea necesario en temas de estructura o resistencia, y creo yo, esto último es más importante que algo “bonito”.

And is that in nature there are too many materials that we can find, so sometimes we can use some for some things and others for others, but knowing how to choose and not just getting carried away by appearances, since there are roles that can fulfill some materials and not others, given their physical, mechanical, electrical, etc, so that in certain aspects is perhaps not comparable a plastic to a metal, however ductile it may be the plastic or more fragile or thinner than it can be the metal.
Since, there are things for every purpose, and that although perhaps some years have passed since then, there are materials that before if they could be used a lot for finishes to give a touch “premiun” or simply use the fashionable material of the time as perhaps could have been the timber or “wood” in some industries, and if I put in quotes the word, because like everything in the big industry of production, when something becomes trend, there will be an exponential increase of these in terms of costs and demand does not always respond to these high costs for supply and demand.
Bringing with them materials that can simulate these, or resemble them as much as possible or creating the illusion of these for a lower cost than originally can bring using the material in question given the trend of that time, being these the origin of many years ahead when we want to replace certain things, we find ourselves with the division on the road about using the “real” material, or simply get an alternative option with other materials available on the market.
This being possible only in finishes, because in terms of structures, it may not be such a good idea to use certain types of materials for it, that is why you have to pay much or too much attention to things to be able to find them and how not to create as much as possible the most appropriate to the need that arises, because if we simply focus on something aesthetic, perhaps we do not know what is really necessary in terms of structure or strength, and I think the latter is more important than something “nice”.
