These photos were taken on my way home from Bitcoin Tokyo 2024, held last month in Shibuya.
I am not a fan of crowds, and I don’t know when was the last time I visited Shibuya…it might have been about two years ago. Shibuya is famous for the scramble crossing near the Hachiko exit of JR Shibuya Station. The scramble crossing, where many people come and go at a fast pace every day, is a powerful and symbolic place in Shibuya. Unfortunately, however, I was not able to take pictures of the intersection this time. I think it would actually be quite disturbing to stop to take pictures at that place😅
The conference lasted two days, but the weather was not so good on both days, and the background of the buildings was gray sky. However, I think I was able to capture the typical Shibuya-like messiness in the photos. Even though I have lived in Tokyo for almost 20 years, I still can’t conquer Shibuya station. I have a terrible sense of direction and cannot read a map, so I had to go around and around the same place many times before reaching the desired ticket gate.
By the way, my second son developed a fever today, so I stayed home all day. His fever was 37.5°C, which is not so high, but since he is a child who usually does not have a fever, he was surprised himself and lay in bed almost all day saying, “It’s pretty bad…” He doesn’t seem to have any appetite, so I’ve been giving him yogurt and Pocari Sweat to rest.
I hope he gets better soon.

先月渋谷で開催された、Bitcoin Tokyo 2024からの帰りに撮った写真です。
私は人混みは苦手で、前回渋谷を訪れたのはいつだったか・・・2年くらい前かもしれません。渋谷といえば、JR渋谷駅「ハチ公口」付近のスクランブル交差点が有名です。日々、大勢の人が早足で行き交うスクランブル交差点は迫力があり、渋谷の象徴ともいえる場所ですが・・・残念ながら、横断歩道の写真を撮ることはできませんでした。邪魔だし😅
当日は2日間とも天気があまりよくなくて、建物の背景はグレーの空。ですが、渋谷らしい、ごちゃごちゃした写真が撮れたなと思います。それにしても東京に住んでもうすぐ20年になるというのに、未だに渋谷駅が攻略できません。すさまじい方向音痴なうえに地図が読めませんので、目的の改札に辿り着く前に同じところを何度もぐるぐると回ってしまいました。
さて、今日は次男が熱を出してしまったため、私も一日家にいました。熱は37.5℃とそれほど高くはないのですが、普段熱を出すことがない子なので自分でもビックリしたらしく、「結構キツイ・・・」と言ってほぼ一日中ベッドに横になっていました。食欲もないようなので、ヨーグルトやポカリスエットを与えて様子見です。
早く元気になるといいのですが。
