On Sunday after church service, my friend and I visited a roadside mamak located at the side of Jalan Rejang, which is in the Setapak Jaya area.

If you're looking for authentic Malaysian flavours served in a no-frills, rustic setting, this roadside mamak stall is the perfect spot to explore. Located by the roadside with a casual and welcoming vibe, this eatery is all about good food, simplicity, and a slice of local culture.

When you step in, you’re greeted by the nostalgic charm of a traditional mamak stall. A large tree takes centre stage, providing natural shade and a cosy feel to the dining area. The seating is basic yet functional, with plastic tables and chairs scattered under a corrugated roof. You’ll hear the lively chatter of regulars mingling with the clanging of pots and pans from the kitchen—a quintessential roadside dining experience.

The counter is lined with large pots and trays brimming with delicious-looking dishes. Behind it, you’ll spot simmering curries and fried delicacies, prepared fresh daily. The setup might be simple, but it oozes authenticity and warmth.

For food, I grabbed some stir-fried bean sprouts, chicken curry, rice and a cup of teh tarik costing me only RM10.
