    Hello once again, Splinterfam and fellow Hivers roaming our Hive Sphere
    I’m here again taking on the next battlemage challenge and I’m hoping that you may once again give a bit of time reading this entry.
    My thanks in advance
    The featured ruleset of the week is BROKEN ARROWS.
    Let's see how I gained victory and complete dominance in the battlefield.

    BROKEN ARROWS
    Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.
    Units with ranged attacks cannot be used.
    Units with 2 types of attack (which include ranged) cannot be used.
    Consider utilizing units with Thorns or Magic Reflect, as your opponent will have to use either melee or magic units.

    melee-mayhem.png
    MELEE MAYHEM
    Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
    If you have melee monsters in the back-line with Sneak or Opportunity, those abilities take precedence. Select a summoner that increases melee attack or a summoner that reduces melee attack of enemies + a tank with Shield. Thorns, Inspire, Blast, Retaliate help in this ruleset.

    aim-true.png
    AIM TRUE
    Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.
    Blind, flying, dodge are useless. This Ruleset doesn't give Ranged monsters the ability to attack from the first position. Choose higher speed or higher health combined with high damage output. Return Fire ability is great in this ruleset.

    tarsa.png
    I chose Tarsa as my summoner because I'm going heavy on melee type monsters in this round due to the fact that relying on magic type monsters based on available Splinters will be too costly for mana usage using Water Splinter and too underpowered when using Death Splinter...that is taking in consideration the monsters I currently have in my arsenal for this battle. Tarsa will grant one unit melee attack power to all my my melee monsters which is a great addition to my overall attacking power which is in conjunction to the ones I planned to use in my line-up to de-buff the enemy's melee offensive power.

    A monster with Thorns ability is usually the best ones to be placed in this ruleset but I currently didn't have one in my selection so I instead chose this beast for this match taking in consideration some tips laid out for this match for the other accompanying ruleset. Its Retaliate ability will be helpful also in battling against melee type opponents as there is always a 50% chance of activation and when activated, it will immediately attack the ones who previously attacked it dealing additional damage to opponents. Its got high amount of HP and shield as well so currently it is the best I've got to place in the 1st Slot as my Tank.

    █▓▒▒░░░>--͎C͎͎O͎͎R͎͎P͎͎S͎͎E͎ ͎F͎͎I͎͎E͎͎N͎͎D͎-->>>>░░░▒▒▓█

    corpse.png
    I placed this monster here as sacrificial pawn intended for any Opportunity type monster attacker. I cant place this in the last slot since the focus of attack will be diverted there if I do so by the Opportunity and ** Sneak** type monsters. I'm trying to scatter the opponents attack as much as possible. There is a possibility that it will never be able attack atleast one in this battle since its only got 3unit speed and Opportunity type monsters are usually faster.

    █▓▒▒░░░>--͎C͎͎L͎͎O͎͎C͎͎K͎͎W͎͎O͎͎R͎͎K͎ ͎A͎͎I͎͎D͎͎E͎-->>>>░░░▒▒▓█

    clockwork.png
    I selected and placed this monster in this slot since I hoped that the Speed it will grant my ally monsters will be helpful in taking the initiative to attack first. The faster my monsters are, the faster they can attack and deal damage to my opponents. Its got low HP but its shield is impressive enough to last it a few rounds though it will be targeted by Opportunity type melee monsters. With this other sacrificial pawn in my line-up, my other low HP monsters which carries the more important task like healing the back line will be guarded and safe from attacks.

    In the battle of melee type monsters, there will always mostly be Sneak type monsters. Selecting and placing this beast in this slot is the ideal position since it will mostly take a while before the monsters next to it will be killed due to the combined higher HP and this monster's Triage ability.

    █▓▒▒░░░>--͎D͎͎I͎͎S͎͎I͎͎N͎͎T͎͎E͎͎G͎͎R͎͎A͎͎T͎͎O͎͎R͎-->>>>░░░▒▒▓█

    disintegrator.png
    I selected this monster to supplement my summoner's ability. While my summoner will grant m ally monsters one additional unit of offensive attack, this beats will de-buff the opponent's with one unit melee power. Using this will greatly improve my overall stats against the enemy's offensive power. I also liked that it got Trample ability which can activate when it successfully killed its target. Any additional attack I can employ against the opponent is a great asset for any battle.

    █▓▒▒░░░>--͎T͎͎E͎͎N͎͎Y͎͎I͎͎I͎ ͎S͎͎T͎͎R͎͎I͎͎K͎͎E͎͎R͎-->>>>░░░▒▒▓█

    The last card to complete my line-up is this beast. Its got impressive attack power which can easily dealt killing blows to the opponent's back line. Its got medium HP which can make it last a few rounds though it will certainly be attacked too. The healing granted by my Healer will make it last longer all the while killing the opponent's monsters.

    The summoners graced the battlefield. The monsters were summoned. The opponent battlemage also chose the path to melee warfare. He chose the Water Splinter melee monsters. The granting of abilities commenced. Opponents got de-buffed attack power. I can see that while his monsters got speed, they are clearly underpowered.

    Since the opponents has more speedy monsters than my selection, the round 1 was initiated by an attack from the opponent's Tank which the immediately activated my Tanks innate ability Retaliate. The activation of Retaliate helped in removing the opponent Tank's shield which made easy for my monsters to attack and damage its HP immediately.

    My Tank's Retaliate seems to be too eager and working quite well as it had activated quite too often this initial round helping in eliminating a low level HP monster. The Retaliate was activated 4times out of 5attacks it received. A very helpful ability indeed.
    20240203_103746.gif

    Before the round ended, two of opponent's monster were killed and left the battlefield while one was killed in mine. My team is clearly dominating the battlefield.
    round 1 end.png

    The next battle immediately started afterward. One monster from the opponent line-up was immediately killed while their current Tank was killed in return when my Tanks Retaliate activated again thereby effectively reducing the enemy total strength to two monsters.
    20240203_102957.gif

    The last round came and went far too easy for my monsters too. With only two monsters remaining the victory is all but a few seconds and a few strikes away. My Tank's Retaliate never activated but the result is still the same. Also I never got to see my Disintegrator's Trample ability since the only monster it killed was the last of the opponent's when I finally seized victory

    20240203_102334.gif

    I still have a spare mana to use when I completed my line-up. After witnessing the battle I noticed that I could have easily won have I used another melee monster in lieu of my Clockwork Aide. Another monster like Uraeus or Xenith Monk would have contributed more in my victory and the battle ended sooner.
