Today... is an awesome day for sure!! I mean... there are so many HUGE THINGS happening in Praetoria right now...
Wait... what's Praetoria you say?!? Praetoria is the mystical world of Splinterlands!! You know... where EPIC BATTLES RAGE and Digital Land is being sold to usher in the next evolution of Gaming!!!
Ok... well... if you haven't heard about it yet... pay attention!! The first big announcement... and I mean HUGE... like GINORMOUS!!!!!
Holy crap - that's like 2 years in the making... #WenLand became #LandSoon... becomes... #LandNow!!!
With this update later today, Land 1.75 will launch and with it... the face of Praetoria will change... Land as we know it will change... and the MARKETS... are going to SHIFT... so like any good Sci-Fi movie or show... BRACE FOR IMPACT
However... since Land 1.75 releases later today... we are going to talk about Survival Mode now... just wanted to get you warmed up for Land 1.75 and all that...
Ok... now... moving on to SURVIVAL MODE!!!!
First - what is "Survival Mode"...
It's like the biggest "Battle Royal" Battle Format you've ever seen where the Rewards are High but the Stakes are HIGHER!!
What kind of Rewards are we talking about here???
Well... here's what I earned on the last day of Survival Mode Season 1... I was a bit timid and didn't ape in - I only have 1 Max Copy of any given card... I don't have loads of them...
That's right - on the final day of Survival Mode, Season One... I yeeted my entire collection into the fray and earned a whopping 1,985 SPS!!!
However... that's not even that much compared to some of the whales!! I heard stories... Legends really... of the "bigguns" earning damn near 1,000 SPS in ONE BATTLE!!!
Not sure if it's true... but that's CRAZY if it is!!
This is probably the highest win payout I've seen and this is still a WHOPPER!!!
Look at Tofu taking home 285 $SPS in a single win!! HOLY CRAPOLI!! That's AWESOME!!
So... what does that mean?? How did that change my gameplan?? How could it affect yours?
Let's take a look at the RISK of playing in Survival Mode... when a card "Dies" in the game... it is placed on a "Cooldown"... where it can't be played ANYWHERE...
Not in Ranked Battles
Not in Brawls
Not in Tourneys
Can't... Be... Played... Like it was you know... dead. But don't worry - we have magic and stuff... so they eventually do come back... kind of like being in a Coma rather...
Ok... no... not zombies... definitely totally normal... healthy cards again... whew.
So I did some calculations using the "Official Cooldown Chart"... and it looks like this:
Ok... so my Max Level Commons take 5 Days to cool down... which means... If I brawl early... I can time Survival Mode to coincide with my Max Level Common Cooldowns... I think?
This means... I can play Ranked, Brawl and then Survival... I will lose out on 5 Days of Ranked Battles by doing this... but I earn about 150 SPS from my Ranked Battles per day after I am out of Glint to buy Chests to get loot, especially Energy...
So... I did just that - I played my Ranked Battles, Brawls and then tossed the gang into the meat grinder... and what did I get for all of that?
Yes... my lads brought home 3,122 SPS for their hard work!! Many are incapacitated at the time of this writing... but will be back to causing mayhem in a few more days... but what kind of toll did earning 3k SPS take on my gang???
At first glance, it looks like this is ABSOLUTELY worth it... but only time will tell... will there be some variables I didn't account for? Who knows?!?
I don't - but what I do know is... I spent all my energy, I filled all my frays... then I sent them...
I'll be sure to post an update in a few days letting everyone know if this strategy pays off!
