Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

    Battle

The ruleset for this battle is HEALED OUT (Healing abilities cannot be used in this ruleset), HEAVY METAL (Only units that have ARMOR can be used in this ruleset), and MANEUVERS (All units receive additional REACH ability).

In this battle, I had to face an opponent who used Astral Entity. Even though I am usually the one who often uses this Summoner on several occasions. The opponent had also prepared some FLYING units that would work well with the DODGE ability they received from Astral Entity. There was a bonus round because I brought in an AMBUSH unit, the Chaos Jailer who targeted his attack at the Ever-Hungry Skull. But he also took damage through Ever-Hungry Skull's THORNS ability.

In the first round, Uraeus and Chaos Jailer failed to land their attacks on Ever-Hungry Skull. Drybone Raider could only land 1 of his 4 attacks on the opponent's Harklaw. Even so, its attack also instantly damaged the entire ARMOR of the opponent's Harklaw using its SHATTER ability. Afterward, my other units (Harklaw, Djinn Muirat, and Helheim Demon) wounded and almost defeated the opponent's Harklaw.

Meanwhile, on the opposing side, Harklaw and Disintegrator attacked my Harklaw. Meanwhile, Djinn Muirat, Gargoya Devil, and Usut attacked Helheim Demon.

In the second round, Uraeus still failed to land his attack on Ever-Hungry Skull. Meanwhile, Helheim Demon managed to defeat the opponent's Harklaw even though he was resurrected using Astral Entity's RESURRECT ability. Chaos Jailer tried to attack the opponent's Harklaw but was constrained by its low Attack power and Harklaw's SHIELD ability.

The opponent's Harklaw was only defeated by my Djinn Muirat. Drybone Raider could only land 3 of his four attacks on Disintegrator who was now in first place. But he didn't stay in first place for long as he (Disintegrator) was defeated by an attack from my Harklaw. Gargoya Devil and Usut attacked Helheim Demon while the opponent's Djinn Muirat attacked my Harklaw.

In the third round, Chaos Jailer failed to land his attack on Ever-Hungry Skull while Uraeus was finally able to injure and give Ever-Hungry Skull a poison effect. The opponent's Djinn Muirat was defeated by attacks from Helheim Demon, Djinn Muirat, Drybone Raider, and Harklaw. But in that attack, Drybone Raider could only land 2 of his 4 attacks on the opponent's Djinn Muirat. Helheim Demon was defeated by Gargoya Devil, while Usut attacked Harklaw.

In the fourth round, Ever-Hungry Skull lost due to the poison effect he received in the previous round. Meanwhile, Usut also received poison effects from the attacks launched by Uraeus. Gargoya Devil was defeated by Chaos Jailer and Djinn Muirat. Usut also received attacks from Drybone Raider (2 out of 4 attacks hit him) as well as from Harklaw.

In the next round Usut managed to avoid attacks from Uraeus and Chaos Jailer. But in the end he was defeated by Djinn Muirat after his HP was reduced due to the poison effect he got in the fourth round.

    Battle Review

The use of FLYING units combined with the DODGE ability of Astral Entity is quite appropriate, as evidenced by the few attacks of my units that failed to hit the opponent's units (especially the FLYING units). Using and placing Ever-Hungry Skull in the last position is also quite good although risky, because it will be the target of SNEAK and OPPORTUNITY units at once. And in this battle, I brought Uraeus and Chaos Jailer who fit the criteria. But often their attacks failed to hit the Ever-Hungry Skull. And if they did hit it, they also took damage from THORNS ability. Luckily, Uraeus managed to give him a poison effect so that Ever-Hungry Skull was no longer a threat to the two of them.

The opponent only relied on the DODGE ability and forgot to bring units that provide SPEED reduction to optimize the effect of the DODGE ability. On the other hand, I used SLOW which was initially used to give my units a chance to attack first.

Debuffing magic units is much more effective than debuffing Melee units. This is evident from this battle and is one of the reasons why I prefer to use Thaddius Brood over Astral Entity. Although Astral Entity provides the option of ARMOR reduction (which benefits Melee and Range units) as well as the RESURRECT ability, I prefer Thaddius Brood because the Magic attack is more dangerous (hence the reduced attack power).
