We all know it's #munchimonday, and I am celebrating, but today I'm here to show you this coin that features a famous USA hemp farmer, George Washington.
As a kid in the 1980s, quarters were like gold to me. I'd save them when I could just to spend them in the arcade on the weekend. A handful in your pocket could keep you in snacks and games all afternoon if you were good and had some luck.
They were also crucial to continue my collection of gumball machine football helmets xD
I was looking on ebay for a 1940 quarter to give my dad for his birthday when I ran across an auction about to end for this NGC graded 1955 quarter. The bid was much lower than the value (as I soon found out) and the auction was minutes away from ending, so I stayed tuned while I quickly looked up price and sales info on this coin.
The eagle on the reverse has a bundle of arrows in it's talons. This is one of the high points (maybe the high point) on a Washington quarter and, as such, is usually worn down on older coins like this.

Mmmmm, so sexy, I just want to get my hand on it!
This coin, more than any other, really brings back memories of being a kid so to get a primo specimen like this is actually cooler than I thought it would be :D
