I was looking through my box of copper and I came across this brass token from the Seattle World's Fair.

I picked this up for $8 at my LCS a couple years ago. There are a couple different designs, but I love the monorail, so here it is.

The monorail travels 0.9-mile (1.4 km) between the Seattle Center (Space Needle) and the Westlake Center (downtown mall). It's mostly used by tourists and still uses it's original two trains.

In 1997 the Seattle Monorail Project introduced a ballot initiative to build a citywide network that would expand coverage beyond the planned Link light rail system. The project ran into financial difficulties, including cost estimates rising to $11 billion (😂🤣☠️), before being cancelled by a city vote in 2005.
