This suite was dedicated to Bédard's wife, Rachel Alfatt, and is an original composition comprising three movements. The Prelude is very stately, majestic and full of colour. The Lamento is a movement of yearning with two solo voices whilst the Toccata is very much a display of the organist's technical ability. The suite is Bédard's typical blending of traditional organ writing with more modern elements, creating music that is both artistically rich and accessible. I recorded this on the mighty sample set of Rotterdam using Hauptwerk, sampled by Sonus Paradisi.
