Crux Fidelis, Op. 253 - Vidas Pinkevicius

As we draw closer to Holy Week, this piece by @organduo is a beautiful composition relating to the Gregorian chant for Good Friday "Crux Fidelis". The tune is presented in the right hand while the left hand and pedals provide asymmetrical ostinato patterns in the Dorian mode of D. The piece is dedicated to Clara Park and would be ideal for situations where contemplative music is desired.

I recorded this on the Casavant, opus 3742 (1995), Bellevue, Washington, sample set by Sonus Paradisi using Hauptwerk.
