Hypnosis is a method by which it is possible to change the state of consciousness and to put people in a trance-like state and this technique can be performed either by oneself or from outside. This term can be traced back to Greek mythology where it has been named after the god of sleep Hypnos and already in ancient cultures, different techniques were used to put people in a trance state and thousands of years ago people used certain hypnosis techniques which were especially intended to cure diseases and while the patient was under hypnosis, it was a lot about influencing the patient with suggestions in order to activate the self-healing powers of the body and people noticed how effective that was and it developed more and more into a well-known method to heal people. Often hypnosis was combined with ritual customs and it was about coming into contact with the divine in this state in which the consciousness is expanded and in the past the people had knowledge in this area, but did not know exactly how the principle behind it works and for a long time it being suspected that it was a type of sleep and only in modern times was it discovered that it is a combination of a wake and sleeping state and for a few hundred years it has also arrived in modern medicine and is intensively researched in various areas. Even today, hypnosis is used in a targeted manner to gain access to the subconscious in order to recognize problems that are usually deeply anchored, such as certain triggers or blockages that people do not know and hypnosis is used in medicine against both mental and physical illnesses and often other methods can be replaced.

Therapies that are based on hypnosis must always be considered individually because each person reacts differently and it can also lead to side effects because some people are not able to deal with certain information that are stored deep in the subconscious and with some people it can even be that some are immune to hypnosis and this form of therapy is useless for some. As a rule, the hypnotist works similarly to in old cultures with suggestions that motivate the patient to perform some tasks and then it is about working through the experiences of the past and often this technique is not immediately applied, first an exact picture of the patient is taken over a longer period of time and observed whether hypnosis can be effective in this person or side effects could occur. Hypnosis is a powerful technique and the special thing about it is that it often does not need many aids and it is possible to relieve physical symptoms via the subconscious and depending on the purposes for which you use hypnosis, it is possible to stimulate pretty much all areas of the body. With the help of hypnosis, it is possible to reprogram the brain and train off certain unwanted behavior and nowadays, it has developed into an important treatment method within medicine and also in the field of research there are many approaches in which hypnosis is specifically worked with and the exact effect on different areas in the brain is analyzed.
