In Linz the public fireworks are usually exploding above the Danube River. This is probably also due to security since explosions over water are not that dangerous. For me it is exicting that nearly every fireworks explosion looks somehow similar but always different, different colors, different shapes and structures. I have to admit that I prefer fireworks photography in summer and not in winter, because in summer it is a lot warmer and waiting for the fireworks is a lot more pleasant.
