Norway'24 #15 - Lofoten, The First Light & Shots

in photofeed •  2 months ago

    Hi Friends!

After a longer break I am going back to share my shots from this year's summer roadtrip to Northern Norway, where our final destination were Lofoten Islands.

After 3 hours on a ferry we finally reached Moskenes harbor and start our journey to the cabin where we planned to stay another 5 days.

On the road we met an incredible light which appeared just after a heavy rain passed.
This first light was a good start of our stay on archipelago.

Lofoten Islands is a place where weather is always very dynamic and often extreme... strong wind, passing rains, all of such conditions generate unique moments of magical light.

All we had to do is to stop the car and enjoy the views :).

Before we reached our place of stay we stopped 4 or 5 times to capture some quick shots. I was the only person who is a photographer in our team but the rest of us also enjoyed the stunning views and weather.

Light rays shooting from above the heavy, low clouds were fantastic. Very dramatic landscape together with light created a magical vistas - hard to photograph because of the dynamic light but definitely worth a while to observe and experience.

It was the end of August so the air in a far North was already quite crispy, cold and wet but very refreshing and energizing. I love the climate of the North - it gives me much more energy than hot, dry air of Southern Europe...

After short while in a cabin we decided to use available light and time to go for a little shopping to nearby shop in Ramberg where I catched more views with amazing light rays and mountains in a distance.

Next location we visited that day after quick shopping was located very close to Ramberg Skagsanden beach.

This is one of my favorite locations in this area because of it's colorful sand patterns and open view towards the mountains.

It is also a good location for Aurora hunting in wintertime as the beach is facing Northern direction.

I took anly a couple of shots there because the light begun to dissapear quickly and after an hour it got dark and cold...

After short visit on Skagsanden beach we drove back to our cabin located few km from Ramberg.

On the way we stopped to take a last view on the amazing mountain range on the other side of the bay.

Mountains, few hours earlier lighted up by god rays now looked dramatic, dark and unfriendly...

The landscape is changing so fast - and all what matters is to be out, waiting for the moments, catching the best light possible.

On the next day forecast predict a very strong wind and stormy conditions - but how it looked like I will show You in my next post and gallery.

    Thanks for watching!

    CHEERS!
