It worked before you broke it

Last night, as we al gathered around the only working router in miles, Murphy found a way of making sure my night was not too perfect.

It turns out that electronics and wine don't go well together. As a matter of fact, wine is, for all intents and purposes way worse than water. The conductive nature of wine (not a perfect conductor, but not a bad one nonetheless) is sure to destroy anything within seconds.

My laptop is officially dead. I took it apart this morning with a sober mind and a hopeful heart, only to find the most obvious of shorts smack in the middle of the board.

I did test the hard drive, and the information was not lost, which is a plus. But, it being one of those all in one type motherboards means that if a part of it is fried, it's garbage.

My attempt to go about my day is going sub-optimally at the moment, because I knew better, I know better. Never have an open laptop next to people drinking. But as the saying goes, don't go milking about spilled cries.

Annoyed, stabbed in the wallet, but alive and healthy (I think). So, still reasons to be grateful?

Working out of a phone is OK, but with my aging eyes, it can get a little too difficult.
