Playing with AI art - To Graffiti or Not To Graffiti

To graffiti or not to graffiti! What if we take an image that is already an urban street vibe, can we make it look even more like that or are we going to hit a dead end? I was thinking this image might be quite cool to make it into a street party, but whether it actually follows my instruction is part of the fun! So let's goooo :)

After this first one shot out, I was reminded of how AI tends to distort people, and low and behold, you can't look closely at this photo, otherwise you start clocking the weird legs and feet of the so called 'people'. It did manage to hit the brief for the street party, I'm definitely getting a car boot sale vibe!

Interestingly, I didn't change the verbiage and yet it's decided to not include people in this one, but it's added some really interesting colours and dimension to the graffiti, which is quite the delightful shout!

Now we're talking! It's managed to turn some of the graffiti into humans! Which really works because then you can get away with the distorted figures of the humans as art ;)

And now we start to go off the cuff, once we bring Fantasy 3D back into the game, now I can't even tell if the the new elements in the picture are people or things!

And now we've officially entered a psycadelic wonderland! I'm loving the mood that that one light gives off in the back, in conjunction with the colour story, but when you actually look closely at all the people and object, that's when the trip begins....

This is probably one of the drabbest street parties I've been to, and the colour story seems a bit out of wack. It's also replaced all of the cool graffiti with just streaks of colour which brings this to the bottom of my list, for this bunch.

So the street party just consists of an abandoned child's toy, almost looks like a train or car that those little kids sit on and ride. This is believable to be just a regular city backdrop in NYC, but do we keep the abandoned toy?

And finally the winner! I'm loving the colour story and the added graffiti of what looks like the Brighton Pier! Kept the integrity of the art, no people, but maybe that's a good thing ;)

    Conclusion

This was a clearly a surprise for me and a good one, for that matter! I'm glad we don't need to stray away from an image that already has a very NYC street vibe to it, there's still a lot of things that AI can play with, I think we just need to be really selective in the types of images that we choose and work with something that either has the ability to play around with the elements within it, or add pops of colour in impactful ways. So definitely TO Graffiti over not to!
