Birds Of Different Feathers

These birds will be laying their eggs soon. Their eggs will hatch in early spring and by summer they will be floating around on the lakes and ponds across the city. I love taking photos of these creatures but my favourite time to do so is when they have little ducklings and cygnets floating behind them. I can't wait :)

This lake has a good range of birds. They currently all hang out together, apparently, except when it comes eating. If you throw bird food into the water, the more dominant (usually larger) ones get first dibs. The other time they get that territorial, in my experience, is when they have young ones about.
