A Picture Of Beauty

I was leaving my Iron Infusion appointment at Southern Ocean Medical as I have done the past five Fridays. What made this day different was that I had a later appointment, so it was beginning to get dark as I was heading to my car. After getting unhooked from the IV, I hit the button for the first automatic door and then proceeded to hit the button on the second one bringing me close to exiting the building. As I approached the exit to the parking lot, I was stopped by the vision of the leafless trees with the Christmas lights on their trunks and branches. There was still some evidence of snow on the grassy and dirt areas. I don't know what happened but I had to stop and bask in its beauty. Of course, I also took a picture. It made me for that brief moment forget about the craziness of the past week, while definitely putting a smile on my face. It made me realize that instead of just rushing from one place to another, we all need to take a moment to breathe and realize the beauty that is all around us!
