Catchup:
Haha wow, last post was in April?!!
The last 6weeks I have been living at some nice cabins helping a guy who just got a 5 year rent contract on the place. Its a camping, cabin and RV park about 10km from the town of San Cristobal and is really sweet. He was an old neighbor from where I was squatting the empty plot where I posted about making a compost toilet. I think he felt a bit shit that I got evicted and so invited me to go stay here to help me out, which it really has. Having a free place to live with a roof and walls makes all the difference to getting life back on track!
Ive been doing bits and bobs around the place as its a bit tatty and theres so much bare wood on the structures that needs oiling to protect it from the never ending humidity. Fences, the outside kitchen and other bits needs attention. We have epic forest here, just under a hectare, where there used to be a paintball setup.
The cider business is going slow and Im trying to get a part time job in town to make life finally a bit easier on finances. Not out of the woods yet boy!
Hard to think that we are approach ing 2025! I do have a part time job dog sitting for the nieghbor after someone she had let her down and her poor dog was inside whining for a night or 2 before she found out the dog sitter had cancelled. Great - I get 100 pesos each day I look after it, regular money is whas needed and with 100 pesos it can feed me for the day. The owner ofthe dog is a DJ and Performer and was away for 20days, came back for a few hours then went off to play in Cancun.
I have a cabin, but sadly as usual, there is zero ventilation and no opening windows upstairs and its a concrete cabin.. At least its on stilts so there is no rising damp, but with no vents it gets moldy. In this part of mexico its not warm and dry, its wet and cold!
One thing that is confirmed is that mexican peopele love to living in cold and wet concrete boxes 😥 proven by offering to add vents to manyer mouldy places already!
I do hope that I get to do the vents but I have no contact with the property owner for this place. I could easily become a project manager in Mexico, just it is the problem not using the place where all expats meet online - facebook, or should I say, Meta.
Well I will post this after adding some pics and thats me hopefully back into posting again! It was/is mushroom season so Ill do a mushy post next!
