Last January, I asked my friend who was going to Japan to buy me matcha powder. I wanted my friend to buy me Marukyu Koyamaen brand matcha powder, but upon arriving in Japan, my friend couldn't find it. Yeah, I like matcha drinks. I like the bitter, umami taste of matcha, and there's a slight tea flavor.
After breaking my fast today, I want to attempt making the matcha powder that I got from a friend. Due to my prior commitments, I only had the opportunity to attend today. But after mixing it and tasting it, I found that the matcha drink tasted overly sweet. Additionally, I prefer matcha that is more bitter and has a hint of tea flavor rather than sweet. In the meantime, the drink's rich green hue seems appropriate for me.
To be honest, I thought this Japanese matcha powder would taste bitter. In actuality, though, it tastes really sweet, and I don't believe I like it. Knowing this, I accepted my parents' invitation to travel to Japan. So that I can decide which matcha brand I want to try and search for it. Since the cost is high if I purchase from someone that provides a forwarding service. But, of course, the price of matcha powder from someone offering a forwarding service is not as expensive as a ticket to Japan, hehe.
This is the hue of the matcha beverage I prepared today, isn't it lovely? Unfortunately, the milk's flavor is very strong and it's excessively sweet. Despite using low-fat milk already.
