Cotton Candy Banned Over Cancer Fears

in market •  4 months ago

A southern territory in India has sought to ban cotton candy over potential cancer fears. Specifically it is related to an artificial dye that is used to make the candy, tests on the product had allegedly revealed that it contained Rhodamine-B.

While some have sought to ban the product there are others who will be testing the product and considering the same move potentially.

Critics have said that it could allegedly pose long term health hazards thanks to the coloring ingredient and they are looking to protect public health by considering the restriction on this product.

Other regions will be testing samples now and some have questioned specifically the cotton candy products being sold in areas like beach regions, where products aren't coming from registered factories.

In other regions that coloring ingredient is also restricted and it is a point of interest given that it is such a popular product for people today to consume.
