It has been quite a while since I played badminton because of my new role. I used to play on Tuesdays and my job didn't give me the chance to play on that day.
I did some enquiry about locations near my area that I could play and I found one called the Portland Center. It's a quaint recreation center close to the city center.
Based on the location and demographics of the people I saw, I think it's safe to say that the center is a part of the community.
In terms of quality, I have definitely seen better but it is easily accessible and has friendly faces, so what more can I ask for.
Today is what will be my first of many sessions to come and I really enjoyed myself. Unlike the other place I use to play on Tuesdays, this one by had fewer people and allowed you to play for longer hours.
Also, in this Saturday session, there are no restrictions for who you can play with. In the Tuesday venue, sessions are regimented, so all you get is your hour.
It feels good to be back on the court, hitting that shuttle and sweating. Now all that's left for me to do is end the day with my incoming and long-standing fantasy of a gift to myself.
