Some thoughts about the cessation of DLease platform

The systematic multiple cancellations of DLease HP leases has began, this initiates the cessation of one of the original DeFi app of Hive blockchain. Actually, it dates back when the blockchain was still called as Steem. Although, there is an alternative which is the Hive-Engine Leasing platform, it appears that the HP Delegators of Dlease is not aware about it yet.

I wonder what kind of promotion that we can do, as users of DLease, to inform the HP delegators about this transition?

I’ve tried reaching out to the HP Delegators that recently cancelled my lease and asked them if they can directly lease there HP to me at a rate of 10% APR but I received no response 😅.

It’s getting frustrating because my plan was to maintain a 50K HP lease until I build enough of my own HP so I would not be dependent on leasing from others. Unfortunately, the only platform that I can rely on has raised the white flag. It’s too bad that there weren’t enough activity in the DLease platform to even sustain the operation of the business.I guess there were too many projects that offer better profitability compared to what they can get in DLease. The HP delegators has turn to curation projects or to token mining options instead of directly earning Hive tokens through DLease.

It’s interesting to witness a shift to the preference of the HP Delegators / Investors when it comes to whom or where would they delegate their HP. It only shows that the Hive platform is evolving into a new form. A new use case for HP Delegation.

It’s fascinating how DLease has become obsolete in less than a decade of the platform’s operation.

We still have plenty of room for growth and so we should find a way to go with the flow of the development here in Hive. As we explore to the new and creative ways of utilizing the HP Delegation use-cases, we should try to embrace innovation in order to stay relevant in this ever changing landscape.

I’m still hopeful that I can rebuild the HP Delegations that were cancelled during this cessation of DLease. Although, I’m clueless of the solutions that I need right now, I believe there will be developers that will rise up in providing options for this specific use case for HP Delegations.
