So, the kids section of the library has a small table, and we have some free coloring pages and crayons there for kids who get tired of browsing books. Not usually an issue. Kids have fun, sometimes we pin art to the bulletin board, everything's usually OK.
Usually.
Until today.
A mom brought her toddler and two grade-school kids into the library. The kids browsed the chapter books, and Mom showed toddler the board books. Then the kid sat down at the coloring table, Mom set down a stack of books the family had chosen, and turned around.
Immediately, the toddler grabbed a book, flipped it open, and started scribbling in crayon on the flyleaf.
Parental horror ensued, but Miss A. Has already ordered some products to deal with this very situation, so we plan to fix it soon. The mom was horrified, but it could have been worse. The contents are fine, and worst case scenario, we'll note the damage and put the book back into circulation.
