On the day of the December 3 martial law declaration, President Yoon Seok-yeol directly instructed frontline commanders to "shoot and break down the doors with axes to drag out the lawmakers," and even after the martial law termination request was passed, he instructed, "Even if it is terminated, I can declare martial law a second and third time, so continue."
The Special Investigation Headquarters for Martial Law of the prosecution indicted former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, the "second-in-command of the rebellion," on charges of engaging in important duties of rebellion and abuse of authority, stating these facts in the indictment today (27th). According to the prosecution's special investigation team, after declaring martial law on the 3rd, President Yoon repeatedly called Police Chief Cho Ji-ho, instructing, "Arrest all the lawmakers trying to enter the National Assembly. It's illegal," and "All lawmakers are violating the proclamation, arrest them." He also urged Capital Defense Commander Lee Jin-woo, who was commanding the scene around the National Assembly at the time, saying, "Haven't you gone in yet? What are you doing?" and instructed, "Break down the doors and drag them out. Even if you have to shoot, break down the doors and drag them out," according to the prosecution. Even after the martial law termination request was passed at 1:03 AM on the 4th, President Yoon called the Capital Defense Commander, saying, "I said we should move the troops before the martial law declaration, but everyone opposed it, so it was terminated," and "But I can declare martial law a second and third time, so continue," according to the prosecution's investigation. Former Minister Kim also frequently called the Capital Defense Commander, ordering him to carry out President Yoon's instructions, asking, "Why haven't you gone in yet?" President Yoon also instructed Special Warfare Commander Kwak Jong-geun to drag out the lawmakers. President Yoon told Commander Kwak, "It seems the quorum has not been met in the National Assembly yet, so quickly go inside and bring out the people inside," and "Break down the doors with axes if necessary and drag them all out," according to the investigation.
Even so, I don't expect them to say it's not rebellion or an attempt at dictatorship.
However, most normal people will know that these groups should no longer be treated as reasonable individuals.
We must properly punish them to show how severe the punishment for attempting to overthrow democracy can be.
I sincerely hope for a return to a normal Republic of Korea.
