    Where are we?

    Seoul

    What were the highlights?

Meeting Daniel's lovely friend Adrianna, whom introduced him to Jesus. Flashing green/red lights and countdown on the crosswalk. Amazing Korean food.

    What has been difficult?

Extremely long cue for passport control combined with loud irish bachelors in reavealing glittery suits.

    What are we grateful for?

Arriving to Seoul safely after a surprisingly comfortable journey. Friendly people. God's guidance.

    Off to an incredible start.

So, here's the first post for mine (Amanda) and Dan's trip to Korea and Japan. We're just getting into vacation mode and are both really excited to see what God has in store for us during this journey. So far, it's even better than expected.

On the airplane we sat right next to a globetrotter biologist from Düsseldorf, born in Shiraz, whom was going on vacation with his wife and daughter. His motto: visit two countries per year, never visit a country twice. Right in front of us we had a couple of Australian/Swedish twins whom we were introduced after one them leaned her seat back, crushing (and subsequently spilling) Daniel's drink all over him. They were travelling to Seoul with their boyfriends for a wedding.

After arriving to Seoul ICN Ariport and enduring about an hour and a half in a stuffy passport control cue along with other foreign travelers (some of them which were highly embarrassing), we took a Limo bus to our accommodation. It was very impressive to see how seriously Korean busdrivers take their job, introducing themselves and addressing each passenger.

After freshening up and relaxing at the hotel we met with and went out for dinner with Adrianna at a traditional Korean restaurant which served us tons of little bowls of food. Adrianna is an absolute sweetheart and the food was delicious. An incredibly sweet ending to the first day of our journey.
