Election Eve...

So it's finally the evening before the General Election and the party leaders have been out and about making their final pitches...

So where are we, besides totally bored of the whole thing....?

Sunak seems to have switched from 'bold policies' like National Service to just being critical of Labour, trying to convince us we'll see a tax increase under them.

As for Labour, they seem to just be dead set on steering a middle path, nothing exciting, nothing particularly new, just 'middle of the road' business as usual, basically the Tories continued.

I think that's the thing.... the Tories have been so chaotic over the past 4 years, caused so much damage, ironically most if BEFORE Sunak, that now Labour is probably going to win based on just doing the same as what Sunak's been doing, more or less.

    Nothing radical

That's the thing about these two main parties - they are 90% THE SAME in their policy agendas. They both know there is very little wiggle room for either tax cuts or tax rises, that expenditure needs to be roughly where it is across all government departments, ideally increased a little, but there's no way to pay for it becuase we can't afford it!

Hence we have an election of bland.

    And the other parties...?

I honestly couldn't tell you. There's not a lot of point given that this is a two horse race!

The greens are bit more left I know that, the Lib Dems seems to have become the comedy party under Ed Davy with all his media gimmicks, and Reform are racist.

The most depressing thing about this whole election is that even with the knowledge of the racist and sexist culture in Reform, it's hardly dented voter intentions.....

    Snacks for Thursday night....

I'll vote tomo, and then get some snacks and tune into the election coverage from 21.55 I think, there's not football on, I wonder if that was planned? May as well enjoy the spectacle, I think Labour are shoe-in for victory but I somehow think it might not be a mega-majority, just a comfortable one!
