New West, pushkinia
On Saturday morning I got up and got going at 4AM as I needed to be ready when my general helper came at 8AM. I got the kitchen cleaned up, breakfast and a shower. Then she called as said she wanted to go skiing after the huge dump of snow up in Vermont. She could come for a while in the afternoon to at least get the shopping done.
So I changed gears and decided to finally finish the bills/budget for March. I spent a good part of the day on it and got it done.
She arrived at 3:45PM and we headed out. I had a very large list, multiple items of most things.
Lots of cheeses, sweet potatoes (for sweet potato toasts), cabbages, and onions.
Five heads of broccoli, 7 zucchinis, 18 eggs, 1 lb of mushrooms, and bags of seeds and nuts.
And lots of limes and lemons and 7 avocados. I have about 15 different recipes I want to try and put into the freezer.
We managed to get it all put away in the fridges and freezer. I’d picked up a piece of chicken for supper and had the rest of the “haircut” for a salad.
On Sunday, another cold cloudy day, I hope to get some cooking done. There’s a lot of standing for processing vegs and I don’t know how much I can do. But first I hope to make the granola from all the seeds and nuts.
