Review of the latest product I was sent by a brand

It turns out that I'm a "KOL" now. What's that you might ask? It's a "Key Opinion Leader". It's the new(ish) term fast replacing the term "influencer". It's a more "professional" word that doesn't carry any of the burdens of the former word. The idea is not that my opinion is better or more important than any other person's, KOL's basically have a lot of people that defer or default to their opinions, when those people either don't have enough information to form theirs, or don't care.

As such, I now get contacted by brands wanting their products to be reviewed online on any of the platforms I publish on. Sometimes they negotiate a payment, sometimes they expect the product itself is payment. It's great if I already need the product, like I'd really like a new camera lens or new vacuum cleaner, so I'd happily do a review for free for either of those. Otherwise I'd ask for a small amount and/or sell the product on eBay. I've also given away some to family members that like or need the stuff.

At present I'm getting random stuff, some which I find hard to review since I don't have a Tesla, boat house or a trailer, a lot of which I just say no to. The most expensive thing I've been offered for free is over $1,000 but, again, I don't own a kayak, so sadly they never sent the product out haha.

The high value, high demand, stuff like the latest Canon cameras are only sent to the very top creators like MKBHD or Kai Wong I can imagine. Maybe one day :)
