Never underestimate a little girl with a dolly, and a grudge. -- Anon Guest
The trick, as one great philosopher once wrote, was to skip everywhere. It fooled everyone completely. Ribbons and ringlets may help with that, but so too does frilly clothing. And pink. Lots and lots of pink.
And it really did work.
Nobody saw her coming. It was easy to be overlooked. Who could suspect a little girl with a violently pink dress and an equally pink dolly? Not a single one of the people who had done so many bad things in such a short time.
Lora hoppity-skipped past the thin security measures aboard the Deregger Privateers' ship, easily ignored and overlooked. She didn't hurt the pirates, she couldn't. She was too small and lacked muscle mass. What she could do was sabotage everything she could get into.
Lora could get into a lot. Especially since her aggressively pink doll was a stealth toolbox. Her limbs and body hid a large number of manual tools. She could get into the walls from anywhere but it was better to be seen hoppity-skipping somewhere at least once per hour.
An hour was plenty of time for small sabotage. After a day or two, they began to pile up.
When the CRC ships came to take custody of the ship, Lora was especially proud of the relentless distress signal, giving away their precise location at all times.
That would teach them for taking her as 'breeding stock'.
