Challenges in farming - If you are a farmer, you will know that farming is a daily tale of challenges. It does not matter if you are a vegetable farmer, a cattle farmer, or a cash crop farmer. The challenge is getting over the problems and solving them before they get out of hand. Things can happen very quickly. So, a farmer should always be alert, quick to make decisions, and ask for expert help.

    Vegetables and bananas
Bananas are so good to eat. The first thing that attacks the young banana saplings is worms that start eating the sprouting leaves and then attack the tender stems finally destroying them. A good sapling gone to waste and the efforts of the farmer. A farmer should always check out for such worms, spray them with herbal insecticides, and loosen the soil to check for other mites. The banana stem is weak and would need a strong stick or pole to support it during growth. Adding cow dung helps the soil and eventually a good harvest. The tender saplings should be removed before the banana sprouts a flower. Good saplings are also a must to get a better harvest.

Vegetables require great care and a farmer must check out the seeds sprouts and saplings to ensure that it is not being attacked by insects or worms. It would be nice to spray with herbal insecticides and also diluted cow urine to make sure that the plant grows well. These are now available on Amazon and other websites. You can also get these for cheap from cattle farms.

    Cattle farming

This is the most challenging as things can turn very bad in a matter of hours. So, a cattle farmer must always be careful and have the contact numbers of the vet ready and should also know how to give treatment if the need arises. The one sign that gives assurance to a farmer is when the animal eats and drinks well. If it eats, then it means that the animal is okay. Otherwise, it is a sign of trouble. Never let the cattle graze grass that is known to cause trouble. Care should also be taken to protect it from wild animals. Animal waste should be disposed of properly and the risk of diseases will be reduced.

Happy planting. Be a farmer today. Grow a sapling.
