Hello Hivers! I'll show you today my silver coins, which I acquired years ago as part of my coin-collecting venture. When buying silver coins, I always check the current silver price as a reference point before purchasing any silver coins. I got all my collection through posts and bidding in Facebook groups and marketplaces. Every time there is a post of coins for sale, especially silver at melt value, it will always be sold immediately. Of course, collecting coins is not all about their silver or gold content; it is more about their numismatic value. Coins in pristine condition will always be desirable and command a higher premium among collectors.
A 75% silver coin
These fifty centavos coins are part of the 1907 series, when the Philippines was still under US administration. In this time period, all coins starting with the year 1907 were minted with 75% silver content, which was a reduction from previous years when coins were minted with 90% silver content. The reduction was to reflect the silver value that was rising at that time.
Feature and Value
These coins were minted between 1907 and 1921, weighing about 10 grams and having a diameter of 21.5 millimeters, with a composition of 75% silver and 25% copper. Circulated coins of this kind are sometimes sold at their silver melt value. Coins in uncirculated condition are quite rare and command a much higher price.
