Our black kitty has been a very bad kitty lately. I could barely put some food in one of our three cats' bowls, which he would gobble up in seconds, then run to the second bowl, and by the time I put it in, the food there was gone too. Same with the third bowl. His two brothers barely managed to eat something beside him.
At the same time, he has become huge this winter. I always joked with him that when he starts eating a lot, he just looks like he swallowed a ball, his belly gets big, but then the food digests and that belly disappears, and he keeps his normal structure without gaining weight. This winter, however, is no longer the case.
His belly is huge right now, but it never goes away. At the same time, he himself has put on a lot of weight, and as is to be expected in this case, he eats constantly to maintain this constant fatness. And that makes him eat almost all the food I put out for three cats.
This makes feeding the other cats impossible, so a few days ago I called my partner to help me feeding them and he held our huge black kitten while I poured food into the three bowls and the other two cats could start eating in peace.
Well, what can I tell you, our Blacky is the smartest kitty we've ever had. That 'detention' was enough to show him that he needed to stop acting like an ass and eat all the food. The next day he stopped doing this and stayed on his own bowl, not running around all the bowls.
I now continue to feed them in relative peace, he learned the lesson in manners that was taught him very quickly 😹
