I listened to a talk earlier where the speaker discussed how emotions influence how we perceive the world around us. I completely agreed with her because I could personally relate to what she was saying. I also believe that this is something many people experience since each of us reacts emotionally to different situations.
A good example is how people react when they see a dog. Some individuals feel happy and excited, wanting to approach, pet, and befriend the dog. Meanwhile, others feel fear because they assume the dog might bite or harm them, so they choose to avoid it or walk away.
This is just one example of how emotions shape our perspectives and influence our decisions and actions.
If we apply this idea to Hive, we can see similar emotional responses. Some people feel optimistic about Hive's future because it offers them the freedom to express themselves in ways they might not be able to on other platforms or even in their personal lives. On the other hand, some people perceive Hive negatively because they have encountered challenges or negativity, leading them to believe the platform will eventually fail or cease to exist.
So, which group do you fall into? Do you align with the optimistic ones, or do you lean toward those who feel negatively about the platform?
Regardless of your stance, it's important to recognize that your feelings toward Hive—or anything else—are influenced by your personal experiences. However, emotions don’t always reflect reality. Instead of forming judgments based solely on how you feel, it's helpful to take a step back and assess whether there is actual evidence supporting your perception.
Another valuable approach is to seek out the perspectives of users who have a positive outlook on Hive. Try to understand their reasoning—what makes them view the platform differently? Through this process, you might gain new insights that shift your perspective.
Think of this as an exercise in critical thinking. Whenever you find yourself thinking or feeling differently from others, take the time to analyze why. The reason I encourage this is that emotions can cloud judgment, leading us to form biased opinions that may not always align with reality. Hive is a perfect example of this.
You can apply the same principle to other areas of your life, including your career. There will be times when you feel isolated because those around you disagree with your opinions. It’s easy to assume that they are against you, but in reality, you might be holding onto an incorrect perspective. If multiple people disagree with you, there’s a possibility that your stance may not be entirely accurate.
To grow and learn, try to understand why others think differently. Compare their reasoning with your own in an objective manner, and then make an informed decision about what to believe. In doing so, you open yourself to new perspectives and personal growth.
