Monday 2024-10-21 + Lunes [Eng+Spa]

It's Monday and the event that has marked the day has been the continued instability of the electric service, and that is a problem on a national scale. Since the weekend, there have been several strong fluctuations and interruptions of the electric service in various regions of the country. Today, in particular, I have been affected by various of these power outages.

At least I am better off than other parts of the country, where the electric service was lost and did not return until the next day. It is not a nice thing to console oneself with the idea that there will always be someone in a worse situation, but I admit that it is an all too common thing. I suppose that it gives more credibility to the old saying that 'joys and sorrows are born from comparison'.

Well, in addition to that, I found out that one of the neighbors' dog seems to have fallen into the ground on the street below. The house is on a hill, facing a row of mountains. So the front of the house is on the street above and the back of the house is on the street below, several levels below the front.

My brother helped him check, and they found his dog, but due to an additional problem they had to leave the dog waiting in the lot on the street below for now. At least he is in a somewhat safe place, but we need to check on his general condition when they get him out from down there.

I was planning on making a short post, but in the end the post ended up a bit longer than I had planned. Still, it doesn't have a central comment, beyond scattered comments about my current day, so I will post it only on my blog, instead of using one of the communities.

Well, I hope that tomorrow I will have a better post to share.

Es lunes y el evento que ha marcado el día ha sido la continua inestabilidad del servicio eléctrico, y ese es un problema a escala nacional. Desde el fin de semana se han presentado en Venezuela varias fuertes fluctuaciones e interrupciones del servicio eléctrico en varias regiones del país. Hoy en particular me han afectado varios de estos saltos de suministro eléctrico.

Cuando menos estoy mejor que otras partes del país, en las que el servicio eléctrico se perdió y no regresó hasta el día siguiente. No es algo simpático eso de consolarse con la idea de que siempre habrá alguien en peor situación, pero admito que es una cosa demasiado común. Supongo que eso le da mayor credibilidad al viejo refrán de que ‘de la comparación nacen las alegrías y tristezas’.

Bien, además de eso, me enteré de que el perro de uno de los vecinos parece haber caído al terreno de la calle de abajo. La casa queda en una colina, ante una fila de montañas. Así que la parte frontal de la casa queda en la calle de arriba y la parte trasera de la casa queda hacia la calla de abajo, varios niveles por debajo de la parte frontal.

Mi hermano le ayudó a revisar y encontraron a su perro, pero debido a un problema adicional tuvieron que dejar al perro en espera en el terreno de la calle de abajo por ahora. Cuando menos está en un lugar medianamente seguro, pero hay que revisar como está su condición general cuando lo saquen de allá abajo.

Pensaba hacer una publicación breve, pero al final el escrito quedó un poco más largo de lo que tenía planificado. Aun así, no tiene un comentario central, más allá de comentarios dispersos sobre mi día actual, así que lo publicaré únicamente en mi blog, en lugar de usar alguna de las comunidades.

Bueno, espero que ya mañana tenga una mejor publicación para compartir.
