Night Heron at the Pond

I know a nice spot at the Inn River were I can take several nice pictures of the Night heron. Since there is a night heron colony nearby and they use this pond and the trees around the pond as resting spots. All the branches that hang over the water are perfect hunting grounds for them since they just need to dive in when a fish swims by and the water is not so deep there. They are undisturbed since the small pond is surounded by trees and there is only a small resting spot at one edge where I positioned myself with the camera. The whole other part of the pond is grown with different plants that make it innacessible for humans, foxes and maybe even smaller animals. This is probably one of the main reasons the night herons choose this spot as a sleeping spot.

This spot at the Inn River is also a nice spot for taking pictures of the Kingfisher. The kingfisher often shares the same branch as the night heron or uses another branch that is just above the water surface like this so it can quickly dive into the water whenever a small fish is swimming by. I defenitely don't want to be a fish in this pond since there are so many predators only waiting for one to swim by to catch it as a small snack.
