Recently, I have been more and more fascinated by the life and work of Marcus Aurelius. What an extraordinary man!
His book Meditations is a simply must-read book regardless of age and sex: it is a delightful book on stoicism that shaped his views on the world. Plus, it is theorised that he drank opium laced wine before bed every night.. so, definitely worth a read!
While being fascinated by his book and also philosophy, I couldn't help but find several things in common with our current position in the crypto world that we love.
Arguably we are a part of a bull run. So, it would be very useful to keep a stoic view on the bull market - and also of the bear market that is inevitable afterwards.
So, what do I mean by a 'stoic view'?
Well, for starters, one of his most famous thoughts was on the subject of endurance:
“Everything that happens is either endurable or not. If it’s endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining. If it’s unendurable… then stop complaining. Your destruction will mean its end as well. Just remember: you can endure anything your mind can make endurable, by treating it as in your interest to do so.”
I think that with this, you can already sense the hints of eventual pullbacks on the crypto coins, the eventual red candles that are simply inevitable.
Just as the green candles made our lives happier this week, an eventual red week filled with red candles is bound to come. How do we react to it?
Simple. Keep it stoic. Stop complaining. Rationalise the red candles in the best ways possible: to buy the dips. And dont worry, there will be plenty of dips to come. We are still early. Trust me on this one.
