Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you were able to have a great start to the new new weekend! In this post, I would like to go a little into nature and hope you can expand your knowledge.

Here you can see pictures of the common cowslip, which is also known under the name Primula veris, as well as the oxlip, which bears the botanical name Primula elatior. The most important differences are the color and with the oxlip, the leaves are much lighter colored and also have a larger shape and appearance as well the location also plays an important role and the common cowslip grows especially in dry areas and the flowering time is also different. As one of the first early bloomers, it is particularly interesting for insects from an ecological point of view and makes an important contribution to biodiversity and you particularly often find bumblebees, bees and other insects on the flowers and in mythology it was under the special protection of fairies and there are legends that you could open doors with the help of the plant and help find hidden treasures or knowledge. Finally, I would like to address a particularly important topic and it is essential to know that if you should see the plant, leave it because in some countries it is becoming increasingly rarer and in some places is even threatened with extinction and thus the entire food chain is also in danger if the pollen or nectar is missing for some insects. This problem can be attributed to the change and disappearance of natural habitats and often over-fertilised soil due to intensive agriculture is also a major influencing factor and it is not without reason in some countries on the list of endangered plants.
