Here are some pictures of the god of fire as well as the blacksmith from the Greek mythology Hephaestus and specifically I would like to go into the connections to occultism. Again and again the blacksmith appears in this context and in some legends it is said that some blacksmiths have made a pact with Lucifer and the property of controlling the fire is also often associated with these ideas. Often blacksmiths are also associated with magical abilities as as well as supernatural powers and many mystical works came from the forges. Already in antiquity, the blacksmith appears often in connection with the occult faith and who had brought the topic most to the public were the Brothers Grimm who in the 19th Century published a work in which it was about a blacksmith who had made a pact with the devil and this work is still an absolute masterpiece and the origins of this work probably go back to the 17th century. The god of of the blacksmith Hephaestus as well as his equivalent from Roman mythology vulcan had their blacksmiths inside a volcano and people thought when the volcano was supposed to erupt he was just working to make new armor for the other gods and some even thought that Hephaestus himself was the devil and in order not to annoy him and appease his anger, the people brought him offerings. There are also views that the mystical forces that a blacksmith has once came from Lucifer and there are also some views in some legends that the blacksmith supplied the devil with different metals in exchange and in the Middle Ages there was often the view that a forge was the image of a hell. All over Europe, this belief became more widespread at that time and there are numerous myths from different countries around this topic and the blacksmith is also strongly associated with alchemy, which is also associated a lot with the occult things and there were also often the views that blacksmiths could do mystical things with their hammer.
