The 300 AAC Blackout was developed to increase the stopping power of the AR-15 carbine while maintaining standard 5.56 NATO magazines and capacities. Similar in ballistics to the 7.62x39 Soviet round, the 300 Blackout (300 BLK for short) never saw military service but has become extremely popular with civilian shooters. In particular, the 300 Blackout has come to find itself pressed into a hunting role, as it packs more than enough punch for whitetail, hogs, and other varmints.
