Back in 2018, Juan poured his heart out when I interviewed him in Cuba. So much so, he used that video as part of his case for asylum into the U.S. later that year.
Six years later, he's living in Miami. And when work brought him to Minnesota, we sat down in another park—this time in Minneapolis—for this follow-up interview I just published.
Juan talks about his experience fleeing to America, his reflections on life here after these years, and offers a few thoughts on what he hopes for his home country, Cuba.
Enjoy.
